What is Massage?
Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body which triggers the body's own natural ability to heal.Giving a dog a regular massage can help to improve the condition of the coat and can increase the range of movement in the joints when combined with passive stretching. Best of all it strengthens the bond between dog and handler, particularly with young dogs.Massage therapy greatly relaxes the nervous system and gives strength and flexibility after exercise.
Recovery from injury can be greatly speeded up.
If you show your dog , a pre event sports massage can be given from 4 hours to within 5 minutes preceeding an event to improve performance and help decrease injuries. It is normally shorter than a regular maintenance massage (5-10 minutes) and focuses on warming up the major muscels .
